Resources

People are becoming increasingly aware of the importance of recycling and efficient use of resources. But few really grasp the full environmental impact of all that “stuff” in our lives these days. Annie Leonard wrote and narrated “The Story of Stuff,” produced by Free Range Studios. The video is available courtesy of Allegheny College, which provides the web hosting. This short (20 minute), critically acclaimed video is well worth watching. See it here: http://www.storyofstuff.com/international/.

We provide here an extensive listing of resources that can help you in your quest for more sustainable living. If everyone does what they can (and most of us could do more) the impact on the environment, energy consumption, water use, and waste generation would be enormous. For your convenience, we’ve grouped these resources by category. There’s some overlap between categories, so if you don’t immediately find what you’re looking for, please keep browsing.

We’d like to thank Sarah Lyon, who spearheaded the Green Program at Scottsdale Insurance Company, for researching this extensive listing.
